Hiking

From Monterosso to Riomaggiore, about 8 miles
(Sentiero Azzurro along the coast overlooking the sea)

Monterosso - Vernazza: 90 minutes
Rough narrow trail, steep at times. Beautiful views of Vernazza.

Vernazza - Corniglia: 90 minutes
The greenest hike of the coast, steep at times.

Corniglia - Manarola: 45 minutes
A broad and scenic low trail past a beach.

Manarola - Riomaggiore: 20 minutes
The famous Via dell'Amore, paved trail cut into the cliff.

Riomaggiore down the headland to Portovenere: approx. 6 hours

Mountainbiking

The area of Levanto and adjacent Cinqueterre is an perfect place for mountainbikers of all levels. A very well made map with different mountianbike-routes in Liguria is available from the Touristoffice (Piazza Mazzini - Tel./Fax 0187 808125)

Scubadiving

There are various excellent dive-spots around Levanto and the Cinqueterre. The area between Levanto and Monterosso has been declared a Marine Park since 1998.
Diving Center Cartura has been offering fundives and courses since 1995 for the following agencies:
Fias, Nase, Padi, SSI. Equippment rental and tank filling is also possible.
